My Values

Social Justice, Courage, and Awareness.

Social Justice For me, being a coach means taking personal responsibility. I believe it’s about actively working to create a coaching space that goes beyond techniques and strategies – a space that is inherently fair and compassionate. This core value for me is about appreciating diversity, championing equity and inclusion, and standing firm against any form of discrimination.

Awareness -Self-awareness is crucial for my own personal growth, identity, emotional agility and being able to acknowledge my own personal biases. My awareness of others/how I view the world, is not based on predictions or negative experiences from the past. Making others more aware of operating in the here and now and offering tools and techniques to support this is of great importance to me in my coaching practice.

Courage  – It takes courage to stand up for our values and beliefs. Often our response to courage is fear and uncertainty, yet, without courage we cannot move forwards. I accept my limitations; however, I know from experience remaining courageous is the only way to progress.
‘Courage is not the absence of fear but fear walking’  Susan David

Performance Skills and Experience

Early on in life I realised that my lack of confidence and social anxiety prevented me from reaching my full potential. I approached my fear head-on and trained to be an actor. I was successful in securing a place at the prestigious Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS) where I studied for four years winning two awards for directing from RCS and Equity – both of which secured my place as an Assistant Director of New Writing at the Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh.

I understand what it takes to be proficient in performance. In previous performance coaching I have worked with clients from professional theatre, the British Army and business and education sectors, supporting clients increase in confidence & achieve in performance and public speaking.

My educational expertise includes drama and performance, leadership in guidance and pupil support and involvement in the introduction of mental health strategy and provision in local authority schools.

The breadth of experience I hold within the education sector can prove supportive if you have underdeveloped aspects of your professional portfolio. My enhanced knowledge of DEI provision as an educator, coach and therapist may prove to be of additional benefit in your chosen coaching journey.
